12-bit ADC: all the time

The R&S MXO 4 series oscilloscope is a precision instrument that incorporates a 12 bit A/D converter. This delivers 4096 quantization levels for precise 12 bit vertical resolution vertical sampling, 16x improvement over 8 bit ADCs. The ADC stays in 12 bit mode all the time, even at the fastest sample rates, ensuring precision and accuracy in your measurements.

18-bit architecture with HD mode

The R&S MXO 4 Series Oscilloscope provides users with the best of both worlds when it comes to bandwidth and bits of resolution. With HD mode, implemented in hardware for fast speed, this oscilloscope can achieve up to 18 bit vertical resolution- providing you with sharper waveforms and more signal details that would otherwise be masked by noise.
