The Reed SD-9300 assures excellent performance and accuracy for a large kind of environmental measurements including: Type K/J temperature tests, tests humidity and temperature in the same time, air velocity or light intensity measurements. With an optional adapter the Reed SD-9300 can be used for sound level monitoring.
How to use Reed Environmental Meter (SD-9300)
Air velocity/Temperature measurement
Plug the Probe Plug into the Probe Input and power on your Reed SD-9300. When the meter is on, press and hold the Function Button and choose “An” function for Air velocity/temperature measurements. Release the Function Button and confirm your selection. With the “Air velocity” function selected, change the Air velocity unit, by pressing and the Unit Button. The display will flash the units m/S, Km/h, mph, Knot, & FPM. Release the Unit Button to select the displayed unit. The selected unit will be saved as the default.Hold the Probe Handle and face the Anemometer Head against the measuring airflow source. The air velocity measurement value will be displayed on top part of the environmental meter’s display and the lower part of the display will show the air temperature value.
Humidity/Temperature measurement
Plug the Probe Plug into the Probe Input Socket, then power on the Environmental Meter by pressing the Power Button. Using the “function” button choose “rH” function. The top part of the Display will show the %RH value, and the lower part of the Display will show the temperature value.
Type K/J Thermometer measurement
Plug the optional Type K or J Thermocouple Probe into the Type K/J Probe Input Socket. Be sure the Air Velocity Probe is not plugged in. Select the “tP” function. The screen will display a “K”, meaning it is configured for a Type K thermometer probe. The measured temperature will now be displayed on the display screen.
Light Meter measurement
When the meter is off, plug the Probe Plug into the Probe Input Socket, then power on the meter by pressing the Power Button. Power on the instrument and select the “LIgHt” function. Hold the Probe Handle and face the Light Sensor against the measuring light source. The top part of the Display will show the light measurement value. Tochange the Light Meter unit, press and hold the Unit Button, while in the Light Meter Function. The display will flash the units LUX and Ft-cd. Release the Unit Button to select the displayed unit.
Sound Level measurement (optional probe required)
Plug the optional Sound Adapter Plug into the Probe Input Socket and power on the Sound Adapter. Power on the meter by pressing the Power Button. The meter’s Display will show the symbol “Sound” and is ready to take sound level measurements. The display will show the measuring sound value with unit “dB”.
Data Hold and Data Record (Max., Min. reading)
You can freeze the measurement value by pressing the Hold Button during the operation. Press the REC Button once to start the Data Record function. By pressing the REC Button you can switch between the REC MAX reading and the REC MIN reading for the minimum value of the measurements.
Datalogger
Using an optional SD card you can use the datalogger function of the instrument. The information can be logged using Auto Datalogger or Manual Datalogger mode. Using Manual Mode, you have to set the parameters, such as the sampling time, while using Auto mode the setting will be made automatically by the meter.
