Kyoritsu KEW 8602 EVSE Adapter for EV Testing

The Kyoritsu KEW 8602 EVSE Adapter is an essential tool designed to perform comprehensive safety and functional tests on AC Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) with Type 2 connectors. This adapter simplifies the process of verifying the safety and operational integrity of electric vehicle charging stations, making it indispensable for technicians, electrical contractors, and maintenance engineers involved in the installation and upkeep of EV infrastructure.

As the adoption of electric vehicles grows, ensuring the reliability and safety of charging infrastructure is paramount. The KEW 8602 simulates the presence of an electric vehicle, allowing you to conduct a full suite of tests without needing an actual EV. This capability significantly streamlines your workflow, saving valuable time on-site. When paired with a compatible Kyoritsu multifunction tester, such as the KEW 6516/6516BT or KEW 6011A, this EVSE testing tool can measure loop impedance, insulation resistance, and RCD trip times, providing a complete diagnostic overview.

This electric vehicle charger adapter is engineered for practicality and efficiency. It features a rotary switch to simulate the Proximity Pilot (PP) state, which corresponds to the current carrying capacity of the charging cable. Another rotary switch simulates the Control Pilot (CP) state, representing various vehicle charging statuses like ‘vehicle connected’ or ‘charging.’ These simulations are crucial for verifying that the EVSE responds correctly to different vehicle states, preventing potential hazards and ensuring a seamless charging experience for users.

The adapter’s design focuses on user safety and ease of use. It includes 4mm measurement terminals for connection to the multifunction tester and a mains socket for checking the functionality of the power supply. This allows for straightforward verification of voltage and phase sequence. Its robust construction ensures it can withstand the rigours of daily field use, providing a reliable solution for verifying compliance with relevant safety standards. With the Kyoritsu KEW 8602 EVSE Adapter, you can confidently certify that every charging station you service is safe, compliant, and ready for operation.
