A female connector with protective earth contacts is provided for connecting the EUT. Various models with country-specific connector systems are available.

Owing to its compact design and low weight, the R&S ENV216 is ideal for frequently varying applications and especially for on-site disturbance voltage measurements on single-phase EUTs. Note that high leakage currents are produced because of the standard design of these V-networks. The networks should therefore be connected to a low-impedance protective earth system. In uncertain cases, an isolating transformer should be used

When it comes to the installation or maintenance of antenna systems for mobile radio, broadcasting or radiocommunications, the R&S ZVH cable and antenna analyzer performs fast, reliable and highly accurate measurements.

Even in its basic configuration, the R&S ZVH detects cable faults, measures the matching of filters and amplifiers and checks the loss of cable connections – the three most important tasks involved in setting up transmitter systems and putting them into operation.

For further measurements such as the isolation between transmit and receive antennas or the output power of output amplifiers, suitable options are available to the RF service engineer or maintenance team.

Weighing only 3 kg, the Rohde & Schwarz ZVH is a handy instrument. Frequently used functions have their own function keys and are within fingertip reach. The built-in wizard lets users perform even extended test sequences fast and flawlessly. Using the R&S InstrumentView software, test reports can be generated in just a few simple operating steps.

The brilliant color display is easy to read even under poor lighting conditions, and it has a monochrome mode for extreme conditions.

The capacity of the R&S ZVH battery enables uninterrupted operation for up to 4.5 hours. The battery is changed within seconds. And if it rains? No problem – all connectors are splash-proof

KEY FACTS

R&S FPC Key Features:

• RF performance engineered in Germany
• 10.1″ WXGA (1366 × 768 pixel) display – largest and highest resolution in its class
• Frequency range from 5 kHz to 1 GHz, upgradable to 2 GHz/3 GHz
• Resolution bandwidth settings down to 1 Hz
• Tracking generator and independent CW signal generator
• Built-in VSWR bridge
• One-port vector network analyzer with Smith chart display
• Wi-Fi-enabled, supported by included remote control software
• 3 year standard warranty

The R&S FPC is the only spectrum analyzer on the market that provides the value of three instruments in one. And these are the three most commonly used instruments on an RF engineer’s workbench.

Spectrum analyzer

The R&S FPC1500 base instrument has a frequency range from 5 kHz to 1 Ghz with options to unlock up to 3 GHz and other features.

Engineered in Germany, it provides the best dynamic range in its class. In combination with RBW settings down to 1 Hz, it resolves the finest details, which are displayed on the high-resolution 10.1” WXGA display. Wired or wireless remote control options are available free of charge.

Vector Network Analyzer

The R&S FPC is a vector network analyzer that utilizes an integrated VSWR bridge to achieve one-port vector network analysis, with a Smith chart display available. Having an integrated VSWR bridge means there is no need to mount/dismount an external bridge during test operation.

Signal Generator

The R&S FPC is a signal generator due to the unique independent source principle. Not only does it provide standard tracking generator functionality, it can also be used in free or coupled CW modes.

The advantages of this three-in-one concept allows only one bench space to be occupied. A single instrument also means that to obtain the specified measurement performance, only a single investment and a single calibration are required.

High Resolution Display

The R&S FPC has the largest, highest-resolution display of any entry level spectrum analyzer. More horizontal plus more vertical display size and resolution means more signal details in unprecedented clarity. This class-leading display of the R&S FPC visualizes the outstanding quality of the signal measurements.
The quality of RF measurements strongly depends on suitable resolution bandwidth settings. Finer resolution bandwidth means more resolved spectral detail. High sensitivity is critical in many applications, e.g. when measuring extremely weak signals. The R&S FPC provides an extraordinarily low noise floor of typ. –150 dBm with 1 Hz resolution bandwidth setting.
The optional R&S FPC-B22 preamplifier increases sensitivity even further, to typ. –165 dBm. While most entry level spectrum analyzers can measure up to +20 dBm (100 mW), the R&S®FPC is able to measure high-power signals of up to +30 dBm (1 W).
The combination of low noise floor and high max. input power provides an exceptionally wide measurement dynamic range in the R&S FPC.

The R&S FSL is an lightweight and compact spectrum analyzer that is ideal for a large number of applications in development, service and production.

Despite its compact size, it offers a wealth of functions more typical of the high-end range, thus ensuring an excellent price/performance ratio. The R&S FSL is the only instrument in its class that features a tracking generator up to 18 GHz and can analyze signals with a bandwidth of 28 MHz. In addition, the R&S FSL18, which operates at frequencies up to 18 GHz, supports applications in the microwave range.

R&S FSL series features

• Frequency range from 9 kHz to 3 GHz/6 GHz/18 GHz
• 3 GHz, 6 GHz and 18 GHz models with and without tracking generator
• Best RF characteristics in its class
• Largest signal analysis bandwidth in its class (28 MHz)
• Low measurement uncertainty, even in microwave range
• High resolution filter accuracy owing to all-digital implementation
• Robust and compact
• Carrying handle and low weight (<8 kg/18 lbs)
• Optional battery operation
• Wide range of functions, simple operation
• Easy on-site upgrading with options

There are six different R&S FSL models available

R&S FSL3: 9 kHz to 3 GHz

R&S FSL6: 9 kHz to 6 GHz

R&S FSL18: 9 kHz to 18 GHz (20 GHz overrange)

all available with and without tracking generator

Lightweight and compact for on-site installation, maintenance and service

The low weight (< 8 kg), the small size and the ruggedized housing make the R&S FSL ideal for mobile applications. Due to these properties it is easy to carry to remote or hard-to-reach locations. The carrying bag with space for an extra battery pack and accessories and the protective hardcover are also very convenient for field use.
Optional internal battery pack for cordless use When equipped with the optional internal battery pack (R&S FSL-B31), the R&S FSL can be used independent of the mains supply for at least one hour. Easy and fast battery exchange in the field increases battery operation time. In addition, a DC power supply (R&S FSL-B30) is available for the R&S FSL. This option allows the R&S FSL to be used anywhere where DC power is available, e.g. in a car.

Power measurements with R&S NRP-xx power sensors

Another special feature of the R&S FSL is the fact that you can directly connect a power sensor from the R&S NRP series. The R&S FSL-K9 option and a connected power sensor allow very precise measurements of the DUT power – an enormous advantage for applications where level accuracy is crucial. The R&S FSL can thus replace a power meter. This is particularly important in mobile applications.

Ideal for service

• Cost-effectiveness
• High measurement accuracy
• Extensive evaluation options
• Wide range of functions
• Built-in frequency counter
• AM/FM audio demodulator for interference identification
• Extensive functions for power measurements
• Storage of settings and measurement results in the R&S FSL or on a USB memory stick
