ExView® App Enables Remote Data Collection and Reporting With Multiple Devices

Extech has launched a new mobile app that will make data collection and analysis easier than ever before with its 250W-Series of environmental meters – the ExView App. This app allows you to monitor a variety of environmental conditions from outside safe or hard-to-reach areas. It connects with up to eight meters at once. You will be able to monitor key readings throughout your facility and easily share them with your team whether you’re using several LT250W light meters, AN250W aneometers, or other new 250W-Series meters.

With the ExView App, you are able to read and log measurements remotely in real time. In addition, you can create detailed PDF reports that can be shared and saved. When you connect your meters to a mobile device, you can easily collect data, create graphs, and add information to customer reports. Also, you can use your smartphone or tablet for remote viewing in difficult-to-access areas or for sharing results with others.

Integration With the Extech W Series

Extech W Series meters that include Bluetooth® connectivity were designed for seamless integration with the ExView App. In addition to displaying trends, setting alarms, creating and sending reports, users can gather deeper insights on equipment and building health.

The Extech SL130W is a Sound Level Meter Alert with alarm for continuous monitoring of sound levels. Ideal for industrial, hospital, auditoriums, schools and other areas where there is a need for being alerted when sound level reaches set points.

The Extech SL130W bright LEDs (red flashing or green) alert user when sound level is too high or too low – LEDs can be read from 30 metres. You can set the SL130 so the RED LEDs flash when the sound level is below the”LO” set point where people in the audience may not be able to hear.

When the sound level is above the “LO” set point, the GREEN LEDs indicate the sound level is acceptable. You can reverse the Red and Green LEDs activation per user color preference. Wall, desk or tripod mount with optional 5 metre microphone extension cable for remote monitoring.

The Extech SL130W has User settable high or low limit (30 to 130dB) with output to drive external relay module.

A or C Frequency Weightings?

The human ear responds more to frequencies between 500 Hz and 8 kHz and is less sensitive to very low-pitch or high-pitch noises. The frequency weightings used in sound level meters are often related to the response of the human ear, to ensure that the meter is measuring what you actually hear.

It is extremely important that sound level measurements are made using the correct frequency weighting – usually A-weighting. For example, measuring a tonal noise of around 31 Hz could result in a 40 dB error if using C-weighting instead of A-weighting.
