It is the first safety analyzer in the world to comply with IEC 61010-2-034 (Safety requirement for electrical requirement for measurement, control and laboratory use – particular requirements for measurement equipment for insulation resistance and test equipment for electric strength.</p>
<p>IEC 61010-2-034 stipulates that the requirements of the software and hardware interfaces must be followed while designing high voltage and insulation resistance test and measurement instruments so as to ensure that users are provided with necessary protection and warning while using the instruments.</p>

<p>The GPT-9900 Series (GPT-9901, GPT-9902, GPT-9903, GPT-9904) safety tester has all the feature and advantages of the GPT-9800 Series. The high-efficiency PWM amplifier, which is designed to impede the influence caused by voltage fluctuation of input AC source, is the core of GPT-9900 platform. The output voltage is automatically cut off (within 150μs) upon the detection of an abnormal output voltage or a trip of current limits during the measurement to protect the operators from hazardous injury. The safety tester will automatically discharge the Device Under Test (DUT) after each test to eliminate excessive voltage remained inside DUT.</p>
<p>Other significant functions and features of the GPT-9900 Series include the “Sweep” function, which is used to display the test results represented by the trace graph; The output terminal at the rear panel is used for system applications; The open-circuit detection is used to ensure proper connections of apparatus for ground bond test; 100 sets of memory can save and recall the panel settings for individual or sequential tests; A remote output on-off terminal at the front panel and a signal I/O port at the rear panel provide an external control for remote start/stop of the safety tester; Thus, RS-232C, USB and GPIB (optional) interfaces are available for PC remote control and the storage of test results.</p>

<p>The <b>GW Instek GPT-9800 series (GPT-9801, GPT-9802, GPT-9803, GPT-9804) AC/DC Withstand Voltage Safety Tester</b> are designed to test AC voltages up to 5kVAC/40mA and DC voltages up to 6kVDC/10mA. The dielectric voltage withstand test can provide important insight into the capabilities and limits of a device’s insulation system.</p>
<p>There are a total of 4 safety testers in the GPT-9800 Series, namely GPT-9801, GPT-9802, GPT-9803 and GPT-9804. While the <strong>GPT-9801</strong> performs AC Withstand Testing, the <strong>GPT-9802</strong> is capable of performing both AC and DC Withstand testing. The <strong>GPT-9803</strong> is a 3-in-1 model is designed for AC/DC Withstand and Insulation Resistance Tests, while the <strong>GPT-9804</strong> is a 4-in-1 model capable of performing AC/DC Withstand, Insulation Resistance and Ground Bond/ Ground Continuity Testing. Other features of the complete GPT-9800 series include: open circuit detection for Ground Bond/Continuity testing to obtain correct measurement results with confidence; 100 memory locations to save panel settings, which can be recalled for single test individually or for automatic tests in sequence; a remote On/Off output on the front panel, and an I/O port on the rear panel are provided for remote start/stop control. RS-232C, USB and GPIB (optional) interfaces are available for PC remote control and test result logging. LabView drivers are also available for incorporation into ATE systems.</p>
<p>A reliable, safe and practical safety compliance tester, the GPT-9800 series is designed to meet a variety of safety standards such as IEC, EN, UL, CSA, GB, JIS and other requirements for safety testing electronic products and components. The GPT-9800 series of safety testers uses a combination of hardware and software controls to asses user safety. These safety testers are built on a high-efficiency PWM amplifier platform with AC 200VA maximum output capacity to impede the influence from the voltage fluctuation of the input AC source. This ensures a stable voltage supply for all the tests of the GPT-9800 Series.</p>
<p>A self-check is performed each time the tester is turned on, to ensure that all the functions are operating correctly. The Zero Crossing Turn-On design means that the output voltage always begins at the zero crossing of a sine wave to avoid any output surge voltage. The output voltage is automatically disabled (within 150μs) when abnormal output voltages have been detected or when the upper or lower current limits have been reached during testing. To protect operators from hazardous injury, the GPT-9800 Series automatically discharges the DUT after testing (within 200ms) each time to eliminate excessive voltage that remains on the DUT. To further ensure safety, the interlock connector can also be used as a double protection to prevent inadvertent operation.</p>
<p>The GPT-9800 series Safety Tester has a clear and simple panel layout, a high resolution dot-matrix LCD display, and color LED indicators, allowing operators to easily and quickly interpret measurement results. All major test functions are performed under a high-stability voltage output with high-resolution measurement results. 										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<h3>Why the GW INSTEK GLC-9000 Leakage Current Tester?</h3>
<p><b>Leakage Current testing is one of electrical safety test.</b> Should a product perform the leakage current test? Depending on the type of equipment, acceptable levels of leakage current have been determined and are generally outlined in the appropriate international or regional standard.</p>
<p>Unlike other electrical safety test (such as Hi-pot test), the <b>leakage current test is an on-line testing</b>, it means the DUT (device under test) is tested under a working condition; other electrical safety test tests the DUT with a off-line condition.</p>
<p>Leakage current is measured in such a way as to simulate a human body coming in contact with different parts of the product and then <b>measuring the leakage current </b><b>flowing through a simulated human body device or network</b>.</p>
<p>There are several different types of leakage current: <b>Earth Line Leakage, Enclosure</b> <b>to Earth </b><b>Leakage, </b><b>E</b><b>nclosure</b><b> to Enclosure Leakage, Enclosure to Line leakage, </b><b>Patient Leakage</b> <b>I/II/III</b><b>, and Patient Auxiliary Current</b></p>
<p>The GW INSTEK GLC-9000 leakage current tester, is used to perform leakage current (or called touch current) tests on medical electrical (IEC 60601-1) and general purpose electric &amp; electronic (IEC 60990) equipment. This tester engages with nine measurement networks (or called Measuring Device) to provide the simulation of human body while the EUT (equipment under test) is taking a leakage current testing in compliance with the specific standards or regulations such as IEC, UL, JIS&#8230;etc..</p>
<p>In order to provide a simple operation environment, the GLC-9000 equips with large TFT LCD touch panel to configure system as well as to present the measurement settings information and result simultaneously. Besides, there are 50 preset testing conditions, which conform to IEC60990 and other standards, for general electric equipment can be recalled to reduce the setting time. In addition, 30 sets empty memory are available for user defined setting.</p>
<p>A Meter mode is also available for the GLC-9000, it uses the measurement terminal (T1/T2) to measure voltage as the same way of ordinary voltmeter. During the voltage measurement, the SELV function (safety extra low voltage) is applicable to detect whether the voltage value between measuring points exceed the SELV setting.</p>
