The Extech PH100 Waterproof pH Meter measures the negative log of hydrogen ion concentration in a water-based solution. The term “pH” was first described by Danish biochemist Søren Peter Lauritz Sørensen in 1909. The H is capitalized because it is standard to capitalize element symbols

pH is a quantitative measure of the acidity or basicity of aqueous or other liquid solutions. The measurement of pH is widely used in chemistry, biology, and agronomy, translates the values of the concentration of the hydrogen ion. A solution with a pH less than 7 is considered acidic; a solution with a pH greater than 7 is considered basic, or alkaline and a pH of 7 is considered neutral.

The Extech PH100 flat surface electrode allows you to measure pH in liquids, semi-solids and solids and limits electrode breakage and clogged junctions. The Renew indicator tells you when it’s time to replace your electrode. The CAL alert ensures consistently accurate readings by telling you when you need to recalibrate.

A Memory feature records and recalls 15 sequentially tagged readings, so you will know how your readings have changed over time. The LCD readout displays pH, temperature and an analog bargraph that shows trends in acidity or alkalinity and indicates when the reading is stable. 1, 2 or 3 point calibration automatically recognizes buffer solutions.

Other features include automatic temperature compensation, auto power off, low battery indicator and data hold. The PH100 comes with a protective sensor cap, sample cup, four SR44 button batteries and a 48 in. (1.2 m) neck strap. For more convenience, purchase the EX006 weighted base, which holds both the sample cup and ExStik® meter.

The SD-230 ORP and pH meter is a Reed real time datalogger with memory card slot. It features a large, easy-to-read LCD display and simple push-button operation. A powerful custom microprocessor LSI circuit and its last generation electronics allow the unit to provide features such as a pH range which is from 0 to 14.00pH. Reed SD-230 can measures and records the values of measurements for a later analysis with a computer. The gage has a good configurable sampling time, from 1 second to 3600 seconds and is compatible with any pH Electrode with a BNC connector. An easy to read LCD display with backlight shows the humidity and temperature simultaneously

How to use Reed SD-230 pH and ORP Meter

pH Measurements (Manual Temp. Compensation)
Turn on this data logger by pressing the Power Button and connect the Optional pH Electrode into the pH/BNC SD-230’s socket. Before taking measurements you need to Set the pH Manual Temperature Compensation value. Press and hold the SET Button for 2 seconds to enter the “Advanced Setting” mode. Press the Next Button scroll through eight main functions, shown on the lower display until the “t-Set” icon appear. When the lower display shows “t-SEt “, use the Up or Down Buttons to select the upper value to the desired Temperature Compensation value. The default value is 25°C (77°F). Press the Enter Button to save the setting as the default. Now you can exit “Advanced Settings” by pressing the Esc Button.
Hold the Electrode Handle and let the Sensing head get fully immersed the measured solution. Shake the pH Electrode to let the probe’s internal air bubble drift out from the sensing head. The top display will show the pH value and the bottom display will show the setting for the Manual Temperature Compensation value.

pH Measurements (ATC)
For pH measurements you need to plug in the optional Temperature Probe into the Temperature Socket. Plug in the optional pH Electrode into the pH/BNC Socket. Immerse both the Temperature Probe and the pH Electrode into the measured solution. Shake the pH Electrode to let the probe’s internal air bubble drift out from the sensing head. The top display will show the pH value and the bottom display will show the measured Temperature.

mV Measurements
This instrument comes with an built in mV (millivolt) measurement function. This feature enables you to make ion-selective, ORP (oxidation-reduction potential), and other precise mV measurements. All of these measurements are easy to made and start when you will push down the “function button” so the unit switches from “pH” to “mV”. To return to pH measurements, press the Function Button again. Connect the optional ORP Electrode Plug into the pH/BNC Socket. 3) The Display will show the mV value.

How to use Data hold and Data record functions
You can hold on the measured values any time while taking a measurement by pressing the Hold Button once. Press the Hold Button once again will release the data hold function. To record the maximum and minimum pH or ORP readings, press the REC Button once, and a ”REC. MAX.” symbol along with the maximum value will appear on the display. Press the REC Button again, and a “REC. MIN.” symbol along with the minimum value will appear on the display.

How to use Reed 8689 Digital PH Pen:

pH measurements
To prevent delayed readings or to make the electrode wet if the pH electrode dries out, soak the electrode in water for at least 30 min before using. Remove the probe cover from meter and rotate the transparent cap to expose the electrode .Dip the electrode into the test solution. Press the Power button to power on the meter. To confirm that the meter is in measurement mode, the LCD screen will flash “pH” symbol. The digital pH pen will start measuring and the LCD will then display the measured pH and temperature. “pH” stop flashing when the reading is stable.

Data Hold
During the pH measurements you can freeze the current reading by pressing the “HOLD” button. “HLD” will appear on the LCD screen. Press the “HOLD” button again to exit Hold Mode.
