<p>The HT Instruments HT65 belongs to the TRMS CATIV 600V series of digital multimeters and is unique by the ability to measure <strong>DC voltage up to 1500V and is therefor ideal for high voltage DC measurements on Solar Farms.</strong></p>
<p>It is also able to measure the temperature through the K probe, the AC / DC current with an external transducer, and the LoZ low impedance voltage input.</p>
<p>Like the other multimeters in this seriesof HT instruments it has an Autorange function and a defined backlit display.</p>

<h3><span style="font-size: 110%;">Why True RMS?</span></h3>
<p>Measuring instruments for AC are divided into two types: </p>
<ul>
<li>AVERAGE-VALUE meters: instruments measuring the value of the sole wave at fundamental frequency (50 or 60 Hz). </li>
<li>TRMS (True Root Mean Square) VALUE meters</li>
</ul>
<p>True RMS instruments measuring the TRMS value of the quantity being tested. With a perfectly sinusoidal wave, the two families of instruments provide identical results. With distorted waves, instead, the readings shall differ.</p>
<p>Average-value meters provide the RMS value of the sole fundamental wave; TRMS meters, instead, provide the RMS value of the whole wave, including harmonics (within the instruments bandwidth).</p>
<p>Therefore, by measuring the same quantity with instruments from both types, the values obtained are identical only if the wave is perfectly sinusoidal. In case it is distorted, TRMS meters shall provide higher values than the values read by average-value meters.</p>

<p>The new series of HT professional multimeters is the result of an important research conducted at the most demanding users of this kind of equipment, namely laboratories where the choice of a measuring instrument is subject to strict tests concerning<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span><strong>precision</strong>,<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span><strong>reliability</strong><span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>and<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span><strong>safety of measurements even in extreme conditions</strong>. Therefore, a complete range multimeters, all able to measure in<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span><strong>TRMS</strong>, all within<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span><strong>CAT IV 600V</strong>, autorange function available on all models, with backlight display. The design is extremely modern and attractive, but also ergonomic, to ensure maximum ease of use. Display with high resolution, even in color version, for the premium model HT64.</p>
<p>HT Italia HT60 functions can be selected using the 7-position rotary switch, including an OFF position. The instrument is also provided with a HOLD function key to enable freezing the measured value on the display and to activate the display’s backlight, an Hz% key to select frequency and duty cycle tests, a REL key to carry out relative measurements and a MODE key to select resistance measurement, continuity test, diode test and capacity test. The selected quantity appears on the LCD display with the indication of the measuring unit and of the enabled functions. The instrument is also equipped with an Auto Power OFF device which automatically switches it off approx. 30 minutes after the last time the instrument was used. It is similar to the Fluke 110 and Fluke 114.</p>
<p>MEASURING AVERAGE VALUES ANDTRMS VALUES Measuring instruments of alternating quantities are divided into two big families:  AVERAGE-VALUE meters: instruments measuring the value of the sole wave at fundamental frequency (50 or 60 Hz).  TRMS (True Root Mean Square) VALUE meters: instruments measuring the TRMS value of the quantity being tested. With a perfectly sinusoidal wave, the two families of instruments provide identical results. With distorted waves, instead, the readings shall differ. Average-value meters provide the RMS value of the sole fundamental wave; TRSM meters, instead, provide the RMS value of the whole wave, including harmonics (within the instruments bandwidth). Therefore, by measuring the same quantity with instruments from both families, the values obtained are identical only if the wave is perfectly sinusoidal. In case it is distorted, TRMS meters shall provide higher values than the values read by average-value meters</p>

The HT701 has an LCD display with bargraph and the Auto-backlit feature for automatic enable of backlight depending on the environment darkness conditions. Other features are HOLD function, MAX/MIN/AVG functions and Auto Power OFF feature is integrated to preserve the internal battery after 20 minutes of idleness.</p>
